In short: FoldOdometer keeps everything on your iPhone. We don't collect, receive, sell or share any data about you. The app has no analytics, no ads, no accounts and no network access.
Who we are
FoldOdometer is published by Joe Hutchings (Jel-Tech). This policy covers the FoldOdometer iPhone app, its widgets and Shortcuts actions, and this website.
What the app stores, and where
To count your folds, FoldOdometer records a small log on your device. Each entry has a timestamp, the kind of event (opened, closed or a complete fold) and where it came from (the app, a Shortcuts automation or a manual entry). The app also saves your settings: your daily goal, whether you've finished onboarding, and automation setup status.
This data is stored only on your iPhone, in the app's private App Group container. The FoldOdometer app, its widgets and its Shortcuts actions share that container so they all see the same count. No other app can read it. Like the rest of your iPhone's data, it may be included in your own encrypted device backups (iCloud or computer backups) that you control. We never have access to those backups.
What we collect
Nothing. FoldOdometer does not collect any personal data, usage data, diagnostics, identifiers or location. In Apple's App Privacy terms, the app's label is Data Not Collected.
- No analytics or tracking. There are no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No network access. The app makes no network requests. Your fold data never leaves your device through FoldOdometer.
- No third parties. No data is shared with or sold to anyone, because none is collected.
- No account. There's nothing to sign up for or log in to.
Exporting your data
You can export your fold log or your daily totals as a CSV file from Settings. A file is created only when you choose to export it, and it is handed to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes next (Files, Mail, AirDrop or another app) is entirely your choice and is covered by that destination's own privacy practices.
Links that leave the app
Settings → About contains links to this website and a "Contact Support" link that opens your email app. These open only when you tap them, and they are handled by Safari or your mail app, not by FoldOdometer. Shortcuts automations you create run on your device through Apple's Shortcuts app.
This website
foldodometer.jel-tech.net is a plain static site. It uses no cookies, no JavaScript trackers, no analytics, and no third-party fonts or content networks. Like any web server, our host may keep standard short-lived server logs (such as IP address, the page requested and the time) for security and reliability. These logs aren't used to identify or profile visitors.
Deleting your data
You can erase your fold log at any time with Settings → Delete All Data. Deleting the FoldOdometer app from your iPhone removes all of its data, including the App Group container that the widgets use. Exported CSV files that you saved elsewhere are not affected.
Children
FoldOdometer is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of FoldOdometer ever changes how data is handled, this policy and the app's App Store privacy label will be updated before that version is released.
